Hi, I’m Laura Jay, and I’m passionate about helping people improve their fitness and mental health through outdoor training. 


As a certified fitness coach, I specialise in creating personalised workouts that not only help you feel stronger but also reconnect you with nature. Whether it’s a park, forest or even your back garden, I believe the outdoors can be a powerful tool for transformation.


​My journey to becoming a fitness coach started with my own struggles. For several years, I battled with mental health challenges, gained weight and lost confidence in myself and how I felt about my body. Everyday tasks became overwhelming and I felt stuck.


Everything changed for me when I decided to go for a simple walk in the forest. I had no expectations, I just wanted to get outside. As I walked, I noticed the beauty around me - the sun shining through the trees and, for the first time in a long time, I found myself smiling. Without realising it, I had walked a fair distance. When I returned home, I felt an unexpected sense of accomplishment. That small step of going outside sparked a turning point in my life.


The following day I went for another walk and took in even more of the scenery. It quickly became a daily routine, giving me the mental clarity I needed to get through the rest of my day. This simple habit sparked a whole new chapter in my life. I began running - something I’d never done before - and incorporated more exercise into my routine. As I became more active, I started to lose weight and naturally transitioned to eating healthier. One positive change led to another and soon I felt like a completely different person.


This transformation inspired me to help others. I understand how challenging it can be to start a fitness journey, especially when you're struggling with your mental health. After experiencing this incredible shift first hand, I decided to study and become a fully qualified fitness coach so I could guide others through their own journeys.


That’s how The Outdoor Fitness Coach was born - to help people achieve their fitness goals, whatever they may be, while reconnecting with nature to boost their mental well-being.
